Egrets

This started as a pretty ordinary background but I decided to experiment with a few different brushes to get the effect of grasses.  I don’t care for  painting small birds or animals as I don’t feel confident but I thought I would try and paint a couple of egrets that weren’t in the original picture.  The grasses were just plain but I added some colour to give the impression of wild flowers.  The beach on the left was dots of orange, brown, red, yellow dabbled with a large brush to get the effect of pebbles.  I love colours, particularly blues and mauves and I had to try and stop myself from getting carried away again with these.  In the distance are trees and fields of yellow. I used dark green with with to get a misty effect and lemon yellow for the fields.
