This is a pen and wash of my grandparents home. It was and still is a block of buildings which were once owned by Midland Railway. My grandfather worked on the railway as a guard and retired at 70. Their home was at the far end near the railing next but one. I remember how I used to climb on the wall and walk along. Sadly my brother never got to see this picture which I know he would have loved. He had planned to get together with me to carry on with his memoir of his childhood memories which started here and continued to our next home in Crouch Hill. It just wasn’t meant to be.
