Grounds at Missenden Abbey

This picture was painted last year and never finished.  It was done ‘plein air’.  I felt it needed something to inspire and lift it, so I added a few things that weren’t in the picture.  For a start it was painted in the summer but I decided a bluebell would might look right.  The tree was originally bare and mostly had dead branches so I added leaves to liven it up.  The rocks in the foreground were just small stones which I turned into large rocks.
